Everett James Tea is a small family owned business located at 1914 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Our Story
My husband Troy and I have two children named Collin and Adelaide. Our daughter Adelaide chose nursing as a career and enjoys working as a labor and delivery nurse. We asked Collin what interest he had for a career. He said “I want to do a tea business.” He has a passion for tea! To assist Collin in pursuing his career, our family founded Everett James Tea! Collin chose to name the business in honor of his grandpa “Everett James Pashia” who resides in DeSoto, Missouri. “Papa” was very touched by Collin’s name for the business. EJ has been a hair stylist for over 60 years. He has great enthusiasm for life and is dedicated to satisfying each of his customers. Our goal is to provide that same service to everyone that we meet, keeping with a family tradition. Desoto is only 6 hours from Fort Smith and Papa enjoys coming to the tea shop to see the growth and try new teas!
In 2020 we ordered a retro style tea cart from Europe with a plan to serve drinks as a mobile business. Little did we know that it would take place in the early part of what would soon become the pandemic. With that, the cart finally arrived in the fall of 2021. About 6 months later than expected. Our first venture was to provide beverages at the Fort Smith Farmer’s Market in the summer of 2022. Everyone involved with the market was so excited to have us there. It was nice to meet people and have conversations about the teas and cart. The children loved to watch the tea steep! After our first year, we were often asked if we had a shop. That October, we rented a building and began plans for Everett James Tea shop!
After 10 months of anticipation, our tea shop opened on August 26, 2023. What an exciting time for our family! Collin has the opportunity to share his knowledge of teas with our customers. He enjoys discussing the characteristics, ingredients and regions of the world where teas are grown.
We offer a variety of teas: black, herbal, green, white, oolong and matcha. All of our teas may be served hot or iced. Our patrons enjoy our selection of coffee products! We use 100% Mexican arabica dark roast and espresso beans. Due to increased popularity, we have expanded our coffee menu to include: lattes, cappuccinos, double espresso, cold foam, macchiatos, cold brew, pour overs, mochas and frozen coffee. We can customize your coffee with our selection of syrups and milk options!
We also evolved into other beverage offerings to include specialty drinks for all age groups. Lemonade snow cups are a frozen lemonade that will cool you off on a hot summer day. The blue raspberry snowcup is tasty and a fan favorite! Muddles are an EJT signature drink. Our customers love the peach mango muddle! Do you love chocolate? Our Mount Everett frozen hot chocolate with strawberries will satisfy that craving! We only use the best with Ghirardelli products! On a cold day, we pile up marshmallows, whip cream, Ghirardelli mini chocolate chips and sprinkles on top of steamy hot chocolate!
Every morning we are busy preparing hot breakfast foods and a lunch special. We want to provide fresh delicious meals for everyone to enjoy! The cranberry pecan chicken salad is very tasty and a favorite!
Our tea shop is small and cozy! A place to relax, read or enjoy a freshmade lunch. The lunch menu is posted on our Facebook and Instagram page every week. While you are visiting our shop, you may enjoy picking up a steeper, a bag or sample from our selection of teas! We carry tea related items, as well as, Everett James Tea gear! EJTeas is the perfect place to pick up a gift for a family member or friend. We provide gift bags and gift certificates. As of May 2024, I may have the opportunity to meet you at the shop! I have had a change of profession from elementary teacher to full-time employee at the tea shop!
We enjoy meeting new people and have had several people share with us that their son is named Everett or even Everett James! This name has increased in popularity!
We are so excited about our new venture! We are in the process of customizing a new beverage truck! Our new truck will have the capability to serve espresso, coffee products, cocoa products, lemonade, Italian cream sodas along with our teas! We look forward to catering an event for you!
Where can you find us? We are in our third year of serving beverages every Saturday at the Fort Smith Farmer’s Market (June – October). Come grab some seasonal fresh vegetables or fruit, handcrafted and homemade items, as well as, a beverage from our stand! Our tea shop is open Monday – Friday 7:00 – 5:00 and Saturdays 10:00 – 4:00. If you are traveling close to Fort Smith, please stop by and see us! Directions: From I-540 take exit 8A to merge onto AR-22 W/Rogers Avenue and travel 3 miles northwest. We would enjoy making a delicious beverage or lunch for you! We are the home of the “First Drink Free.”
